Also known as the 'Rainy Day Room', this playroom for kids under 10 is open during cold weather months or when it's raining. There is always an attendant on duty to enforce the rules but parents must accompany young children. It's open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the cold weather months.
A resident-led space that offers kids an area to weed, garden, and learn about nature. In the Spring, they plant seeds and then watch them grow. Throughout the Summer, they weed and keep the garden tidy. It's a great learning experience for the young ones. Tools and plants are provided by management.
The playground has seasonal hours and is open to all Boulevard Gardens residents. Children ages 12 and under are welcome. There is equipment for the little ones (2–5 years old) and for school-aged kids (5–12). Picnic benches and seating benches are scattered throughout the space. There's also a sprinkler pool during the summer. Playground attendants are always on site. Lifelong friendships are made here.
The library/Special Edition room is located in the basement of “E” building (51-34 30th Avenue), past the laundry room, next to the elevator. Also housed in the library are current and past issues of Special Edition, available for residents to read while in the library. We also have a few original newsletters from the 1930s, and many pictures, old and new, of Boulevard Gardens. The library is open to all residents over the age of 18. Hours are Sundays 1–3 pm, Tuesdays 2–4 pm, and Wednesdays 6–8 pm.
The gardening club has been around for decades and its members beautify the grounds year round. There are regular opportunities to join for folks with green thumbs.
